Knowing the Jesus of the Bible
The Word of God says that Christians are ambassadors or representatives of Christ (2 Corinthians 5:20). When a country sends out an ambassador to represent them, they are expected to be faithful to the standards of that country. The standard for the Christian is the Bible; the Word of the Living God. Some Christians and churches are more faithful to their denominational beliefs than to the Word of God that abides forever. I am not against Christian denominations and organizations in general, but I am against any system of beliefs that are against what the Bible teaches. You can go up to some people and ask them if they are a Christian, and they say, “No, I’m…” and then they proceed to name the type of church they attend. Christians need to stop identifying themselves with an organization, and start identifying themselves with the King of kings and Lord of lords; the Lord Jesus Christ. Start representing and promoting Jesus Christ instead of promoting an organization that doesn’t amount to a hill of beans in light of eternity!
There are a lot of Christians that are bound and spiritually constipated because of the religious trash they are feeding on! They need a religious enema compliments of the Word of God and the Holy Spirit! It is a dirty job, but it is desperately needed in this area and in the Body of Christ as a whole. One pastor told me that his church was “truly a friend of sinners.” The only problem with that is that his church is one that accepts abortion (murder of the unborn) and homosexuality (the Bible calls it a sin, not a genetic disorder) which are totally against the Bible. This “pastor” is nothing more than a mouthpiece for Satan and evil spirits; leading people to the pits of hell; the blind leading the blind. He thinks he is a “friend of sinners” because he is not “judging” them. Obviously this pastor is not convinced that the Bible is the Word of God! Avoid those so called “churches” and “pastors” like the plague. They are feeding you spiritual poison! When you and I speak what the Word of God says to an individual, that is not “judging” a person. Even when the woman that was caught in adultery was brought to Jesus, He told her to go and sin no more (John 8:3-11). If this pastor truly loved the people, he would speak the truth of God’s Word to them and lead them in the right path for their life. If I had a natural cure for cancer and withheld it from a sick person, I would not be accused of loving them or being their friend! Well, the Bible reveals the cure for sin, it reveals the cure for sickness and disease, and most importantly, it reveals the cure for an eternity in hell! I pray that this “pastor” and his congregation would be delivered from the deception that they are in, and would truly read the Bible so that they can know and understand the truth! Jesus hung out with sinners to lead them to salvation through Him, not just to hang out and go fishing! I am convinced that if Jesus was on this earth today in the flesh, He would not be invited to speak at every church that calls themselves a “Christian church.” Many people reading this are saying, “Oh yes, we would invite Him!” No you wouldn’t, because you quench the Holy Spirit in your personal life and in your church. If you reject the Holy Spirit, you are rejecting Jesus Himself. The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit come as a package deal; they are in unity with each other! Jesus was radical; He operated in the Gifts of the Spirit, He allowed the power of God to flow in His ministry. Jesus was not seeker sensitive, but Holy Spirit sensitive!
Do you understand how important it is for you to know what the Bible teaches? You can be deceived so easily when you don’t have a foundation that is based on the written Word of God! Do yourself an eternal favor and study the Bible for yourself; don’t just keep eating spiritual trash until you become severely spiritually constipated. I know this is a very direct and bold article, but people’s eternal destination depends on whether they know the Jesus of the Bible or not. Do you know the Jesus of the Bible?
