How to Release Your Faith
The Word of God says that death and life are in the power of the tongue (Proverbs 18:21). In the Book of James, God makes us aware of the fact that our tongue has the power or authority to steer our lives in the path of life and blessing or death and cursing. Many in the body of Christ are not experiencing the fullness of the blessing of God because they are not verbally releasing their faith. Unfortunately, many choose to speak words of doubt, fear, and unbelief, instead of speaking what the Word of God says about them and their situation. These same people wonder why nothing works out for them in life.
Romans 10:10 says, “For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.” The word “confession” means to agree with, or to say the same thing as. Confession is not a silent thing. It is a Biblical requirement that we verbalize our faith in the Word of God. To unlock and receive the benefits of our salvation through Jesus Christ, the Word of God must not only be in your heart, but it must also come out of your mouth. Faith will always manifest itself in words. Jesus said it this way in Matthew 12:34, “Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.”
Second Corinthians 1:20 says, “For all the promises of God in Him (Jesus Christ) are yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.” Legally speaking, the benefits of salvation (Psalm 103:1-5) belong to us as Christians, but to experience the blessings, you must verbally release the Word of God that is in your heart. Keep in mind, when I speak of salvation, I am not only referring to a one way ticket to heaven for eternity, but also healing, deliverance, protection, prosperity, soundness of mind, and general well being on this earth that Jesus has provided for us through His death, burial, and resurrection. Jesus has done everything He is ever going to do concerning our salvation. Before He took His last breath on the cross He said, “It is finished.” Confession of God’s Word, “agreement with God’s Word”, or “to say the same thing as God’s Word” must be done in order to be partakers of the benefits of salvation. The word “Amen” in 2 Corinthians 1:20 means “Yes, so be it.” We must verbally put the “Yes, so be it” on all of the benefits that legally belong to us through the Lord Jesus Christ. When you speak the Word of God, you are releasing the power of God. You are coming in agreement with the True and Living God; you become a connector between Heaven and earth. To have the Word of God in your heart doesn’t mean to only read it once or even twice a week, but to be so filled with the Word of God that confession of it begins to overflow out of your mouth. If you need faith in a certain area, such as healing, finances, or protection, you need to find verses in the Word of God that promise those blessings and begin to meditate on them; feed on them; fill yourself with them. Meditation means not only to think upon Scriptures, but also to verbally speak it. According to Joshua 1:8, we are not to let the Word of God depart from our mouth. You will notice your faith begin to increase, because Romans 10:17 says that faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.
Confession is a spiritual law, and unfortunately, it can be used in a negative sense as well. Some people truly believe in their heart and confess with their mouth that they are going to get a sickness or disease, they are never going to amount to anything, or they are always going to live in poverty, etc. When you do this, you are accepting the devil’s package for your life. That is why the enemy attacks your thought life so hard. Satan and evil spirits are trying to get you to believe and to say the same thing as them because they are well aware of the spiritual law and power of confession. Don’t ever forget this Biblical truth; confession is made or must be made unto salvation, unto healing, unto protection, unto every provision that God has for you as His child. I want to encourage you to not only keep the Word of God in your heart, but to take the next step and verbally release it out of your mouth. If you will be faithful in doing this as a Christian, along with living a life of obedience, you will be well on your way to living the abundant life that Jesus Christ came to this earth to give you (John 10:10)!
