The Blood of Jesus Christ
There is only one thing that can cleanse you of your sins and set you free from Satan’s grip; the Blood of Jesus Christ. I don’t believe that it is possible to overemphasize this subject, for it is through faith in the shed Blood of Jesus Christ that our sins are washed away and we can have a personal relationship with the One True and Living God.
Some so-called “Christian” churches won’t preach or teach about the Blood of Jesus because they say it is too offensive to talk about. Christianity is a bloody religion. The Gospel centers around the shed Blood of Jesus Christ. If you remove the Blood from your message, it is no longer Christianity. A born again Christian will exalt Jesus Christ and the Blood that He shed on the cross. In Romans 1:16a the Apostle Paul said, “I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.”
The Word of God refers to the Blood of Jesus Christ as precious. 1 Peter 1:18-19 says, “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious Blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot.” Jesus was and is the spotless Lamb of God because He did not have a sin nature. This is due to the fact that He did not have two earthly parents. He was conceived in the womb of the virgin Mary by the Holy Spirit. This is the great exchange: Jesus took the sins of mankind upon Himself on the cross, and through faith in Him we receive the righteousness of His perfect and sinless life. Many people are trying to substitute their need for the Savior with natural things such as alcohol, drugs, entertainment, money, and sex. It is only the Blood of Jesus Christ that will fill the void in their life.
The Blood of Jesus Christ offers remission of sins to every person on the face of this earth. The Bible says that Jesus died for the sins of the whole world, yet the whole world is not saved. Why? The offer of salvation must be accepted through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. The word remission signifies a release from bondage or release from imprisonment, a dismissal, a sending away, and forgiveness, with the added quality of canceling out all judgment, punishment, obligation or debt. The Blood makes you whiter than snow in God’s sight. Many Christians have allowed the enemy to spiritually cripple them with condemnation about their past sins to which they have been forgiven of. This is due to the fact that they have not had a revelation of the debt canceling power of the Blood of Jesus. Romans 8:1 says, “There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.” In order to be grounded in this truth, you must renew your mind with the Word of God and abide in Christ. In John 15:5, Jesus said, “I am the Vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” Jesus Christ is our life source. To abide in Him means to maintain constant fellowship and walk in the truth of God’s Word. When we get out of fellowship with Him we will not bear fruit because we cut off our source of spiritual revelation and life. However, as we maintain fellowship with Him, the Holy Spirit gives us greater understanding of God’s Word and what Jesus Christ has accomplished for us by His shed Blood.
I want to encourage you to study and learn about all that the Blood of Jesus Christ has accomplished on the cross. Take hold of this profound truth: there is forgiveness, freedom, and awesome power available to you through the Blood of Jesus Christ!
