Do You See What I See?
When you receive Jesus
Christ as your Lord and Savior, the Holy Spirit does a supernatural work within
your spirit by washing away the sin nature that was passed down from Adam. At
that point, your spirit becomes alive unto God and you are capable of
comprehending things from a spiritual perspective.
It is important that we as believers have spiritual vision. It is a must! It
allows us to see what is and what will be taking place in people, situations,
and places that is not visible to the natural eye. This week I want to target in
on seeing people as God sees them. I believe the Lord is asking us this question
today, "Do You See What I See?"
God wants Christians to look beyond the natural appearance of people and align
their vision with His. What about people like Billy Graham, Oral Roberts, and
other ministers who have been used mightily by God? What would have happened if
the Christians who led them to the Lord would have just walked away and not
valued them and seen the potential in them? How about when John the Baptist saw
Jesus and said "Behold the Lamb of God, Who takes away the sin of the world"
(John 1:29)? John the Baptist was looking at Him with his spiritual eyes. Many
of Jesus' relatives and friends that He grew up with on this earth didn't view
Him as the Son of God. Why? Because they were being tripped up by the outward
appearance.
Jesus is our greatest example of having precise spiritual vision. He was in
total unity with His Heavenly Father. (John 5:19) In Mark chapter 5 we see the
account of a man who was bound by demon spirits. Most people saw him as a crazy
man and would stay far away, but Jesus looked beyond what was seen with the
natural eye and saw the root cause of why this man was acting the way he was.
Jesus then cast the demons out of him, and the man became a great testimony and
witness for God! Jesus unlocked the potential that was in that man by setting
him free from Satan's grip!
1 Corinthians 3:9 says that we, the body of Christ, are laborers together with
God. The word with implies a partnership or being in unity with Him. We can only
maintain that unity if our vision is in line with His. That is why it is so
important to read the Word of God every day. It will strip away the worldly
mindsets that would try to make our vision separate from God's vision. How can
we truly labor with Him if we are not seeing others as He does? When we as
Christians begin to see others as God views them, then we can truly labor with
Him on this earth to advance the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
