The Power of Your Words (Part 2)
Man is a spiritual being that possesses a soul
(mind, will, and emotions) and lives in a physical body. The real you is a
spirit and your physical body is simply the shell that houses your spirit. Words
originate in our spirit; therefore, words are a spiritual force. There are only
two kingdoms in the spiritual realm, the kingdom of Satan and the Kingdom of
God. The words that you speak will either loose the power of God or the power of
the devil. I am convinced that there are many people who are in spiritual,
emotional, and physical bondage today because they have given place to the devil
(Ephesians 4:27) in their lives by the words that they speak.
Proverbs 18:21 tells us that "death and life are in the power of the tongue: and
they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof." In other words, you will partake
of the manifestation that your words produce in your life; either the
manifestation of death or life. If the devil himself were to walk up to you with
a package, would you sign for and receive that package from him? Any person in
their right mind would say, "of course not." But how many times have we signed
for and received the package of the devil because of the words of negativity,
cursing, etc. that have come out of our mouth? The Word of God says that you can
become snared, trapped or brought into bondage because of the words that come
out of your mouth (Proverbs 6:2).
Psalms 103:20 says that angels hearken unto the voice of God's Word. Who gives
"voice" to God's Word on this earth? We do! As you speak God's Word in your
situation and life, the Bible says that angels are dispatched on your behalf to
help you in your situation. When you are verbally speaking or confessing God's
Word over your life, you are agreeing with God's will for your life! Remember,
the words that you speak either loose the power of God or the power of Satan in
your life.
Joshua 1:8 says, "This Book of the Law (Bible) shall not depart out of your
mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do
according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way
prosperous, and then you shall have good success." The word 'meditate' means to
speak to yourself. Biblical meditation is when you fill yourself with the Word
of God and it comes out of your mouth. New age or transcendental meditation says
that you are to empty yourself and speak a mantra over and over; that is a
perverted form of meditation from Satan. You are opening yourself up to demons
by doing that kind of meditation. But the Bible says to meditate on the Word of
God and the result of doing that is becoming a doer of the Word (James 1:22),
and then you shall prosper and have good success. Why? Because words are a
compass; you will go in the direction of the words that you speak!
