Forgiven
Broken and bruised—I fell to His feet
a vessel of guilt—entangled in sin
Open arms and willing was He to receive
but a lifeless heart was all I had to give
He took that very heart—gave it new life
He embraced my body and mended the pain
He accepted me fully—forgetting my past
and upon my heart He wrote His name
He did not condemn me nor turn away
despite the times I had denied Him
He gave me a taste of His mercy and grace
He rejoiced that His child had finally found Him
My sins were covered by His great love
A taste of Heaven He freely gave
He healed my wounds—He cleansed my heart
But above all—me, He forgave.
